CAREER
I'm currently an account executive at a Dublin-based PR communication and public relations agency, dedicated to sharing brand stories and managing the reputations of some of Ireland's biggest brands. I'm also a contributor for Strategic Magazine, an international public relations and communications magazine published quarterly for business leaders in all sectors.
I have experience in campaign development, implementation and reporting, and I've worked across digital PR, content creation, consumer relations, corporate communications and internal communications campaigns to deliver positive client results. I'm really passionate about writing and storytelling, which is why I love working in public relations.
My PR career kicked off with an eight month placement at a leading Cork-based public relations agency as part of my university degree, where I returned after graduating as a junior account executive, working with some of Ireland's leading national and multi-national businesses in the life sciences, technology, professional services and not-for-profit sectors.
EDUCATION
Most recently, I completed the Public Relations Institute of Ireland's Diploma in Public Relations alongside working full-time, complementing my on-the-job learnings and giving me an in-depth understanding of the best practices for PR.
In 2020, I graduated at the top of my class with a first class honours in Commerce International with Irish from University College Cork. Some of my favourite modules included Digital Marketing, Web Design and Development for Business, Strategic Marketing and Marketing Communications. The first two years of my degree took a broad focus on best practices for international business, giving me the opportunity to study all aspects of business, ranging from law and finance to economics, management and marketing.
I spent my third year of university working as a PR assistant at a Cork-based public relations agency. During the year, I completed a research project which focused on the potential of small PR agencies to use big data to optimise campaigns.
During my time at UCC, I was staff writer for the university magazine, Motley, and I spent a semester as Fashion Editor for the university newspaper, the University Express.
INTERESTS
Outside PR, I'm passionate about all things digital and social media. In 2015, I set up an award-winning blog, www.sadhbhers.ie, which earned Blog of the Year at the National Student Media Awards 2019 and 2020, and was shortlisted for the Blog Awards Ireland. I've also guest written for Irish blogs and websites including the Irish Independent.
A west-Cork native, I'm also a water baby, and love nothing more than a day at the beach. In 2016, I qualified as an Instructor for Irish Water Safety, and spent the following four Summers teaching swimming and water safety to kids and adults in West Cork.
